Me
"I grew up with my feet on clay, the cows in the fields never far away.
Where corn meets horizon, beyond clouds in the sun,
 thanks to the dikes."

Very free interpretation of "Dankzij de dijken/In the Dutch mountains" by Freek de Jonge & Nits

Genealogy
Genealogy
My familyname (and my wife's too) are not widely spread over the globe. I have not done any research myself, but I did collect a lot of information through Internet and with the help of others. So far I have managed to create familytrees of different tribes.

This site is only in Dutch, but not very difficult for genealogists.

South Africa
South Africa
In June 2002 my wife Daan and I and our friends Anneke and Chiel travelled through South Africa. It was only for two weeks, in a rented car, and we didn't get any further than from CapeTown to Durban, but it was a very, very nice trip.
This page is both in Dutch and English and holds a day-to-day travelstory, pictures and interesting links.

Tanzania
Tanzania
Once a year my school (School for Journalism, Utrecht) lets students travel to Tanzania, Mexico or Indonesia. The purpose is to experience working in a different country, in a different culture and under difficult circumstances.

In May-June 2003 I was given the opportunity to co-lead 17 students through Tanzania, for more than two weeks.<
Unfortunately this site is only in Dutch.

Rochefort
Rochefort
This site is made by my brother's wife. They live in mid-France. He is farmer, she runs a campsite on their farmyard, and holidayhouses too.<

Their camping and houses are situated in the Gien-Briare area, along the river Loire in mid-France.

AMB-stal
AMB-stal
This links towards the site of my sister's horsestables. She keeps horses on the farm were we grew up.

The site is created and maintained by her husband, Joep.

Amiga
Amiga
Amiga's are my computers. I know: old and very unfashioned. But once a wonderous machine. All my webpages are made on Amiga.
It's like a vintage Jaguar: a great car, if you learn to like and appreciate it...

Site is in Dutch only and in no way completed.

GroenLinks
GroenLinks Dronten
I happen to be substitute member of Dronten's municipal council. My party is GroenLinks Dronten, which is the local branch of Dutch political party GroenLinks ("GreenLeft").

I am not really into politics, but I wanted to get involved deeper into my local community. After having been with our local tv-station for more than 20 years, I found local politics a worthy alternative for getting to know everything about the community of Dronten.

The site is only available in Dutch and is no longer a project of mine.pijltje_opUp again
